Originally, Friulian women in the 19th century made shoes from old bicycle tires and theater curtains. The Venetians adopted the unique style of the slipper and made it a symbol of sophistication. For NOUÏKKA, the velvet shoes are still hand-sewn today by a small family business in Friuli.
All products are made entirely by hand, following the methods handed down by generations of craftsmen, combined with the use of modern materials and state-of-the-art recycling techniques.
